If you’ve ever watched any of the Marvel movies (and lets face it, at this point they’ve been going for about a decade and it would be more surprising if you hadn’t seen at least one of them), then you’ve probably seen something on screen that you can’t help but think “well that’d be cool to have”. Whether it’s Captain America’s Vibranium Shield, Hawkeye’s Bow, or even Thor’s mystical Hammer Mjolnir, there are a lot of really cool specialty items floating around the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And now Hasbro is giving you the chance to bring a few home with you!
Last year, Hasbro announced a new branch of their ‘Marvel Legends’ line that would bring officially licensed screen accurate life-sized prop replicas to the collectors market at an affordable price! Their first offerings in the line that premiered this past fall were Captain America’s Shield and a wearable Iron-Man Helmet! Fans have been generally happy with the line so far, so it shouldn’t surprise many to hear that Hasbro has decided to continue to line this year with two new life sized prop replicas from the Marvel Cinematic Universe! To top it all off, this year they’re stepping things up with more special features than you can shake a stick at!
For 2017’s new Marvel Legends Cosplay Props, Hasbro has revealed new life sized and fully functional versions of Star Lord’s Helmter from ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ and Thor’s mighty Hammer Mjolnir! Both feature lights and sounds and are expected to run around $100 each when they release this fall.
For those who are ready to get ‘Hooked On A Feeling’, Star Lord’s Helmet is the perfect accessory! It’s got built in glowing lights in the eyes (which run on three AA batteries) so you can look just like your favorite roguish space pilot! The helmet has a hinged access panel so you can comfortably take the helmet off and on without hurting yourself, and should adjust to fit most adult sized heads. To make this prop really shine, Hasbro has gone and thrown in bluetooth-connected speakers on the inside of the helmet so that you can blast ‘Awesome Mix’ all day long without worrying about your headphones not being loud enough to hear inside the helmet!
If you’re worthy, you may also want to pick up Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir, which has the power of lights and thunder sound effects! It will even light up with Odin’s crest whenever the wielder utters the word “worthy”, which should certainly make for an interesting party trick! Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir even comes with a display stand! Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir also runs on three AA batteries.
