With ‘Doctor Strange’ coming to digital HD tomorrow (can you think of a better Valentine’s Day gift than a Marvel movie about magic and multi-verses?) the studio is busy showing off the various special features that will accompany the epic Blu-Ray which is set to be released later this month. So far we’ve already seen bits and pieces of some behind the scenes featurettes and a few of the deleted scenes that will be released, and now the studio has given us a piece of the gag reel which shows off just how wacky the actors got, which is highlighted by the fact that their characters are so serious throughout the film and find themselves in such dire situations (except of course for Strange himself, who is quipping the whole movie already).

The 50 second clip, which I am hoping is part of a much longer gag reel that also includes some moments from Mads Mikkelson who I’ve heard is hilarious on set, has some line flubs from the great Tilda Swinton and Cumberbatch, and shows off some dance moves and wire work gone wrong for Cumberbatch when they are attempting to do some of the scenes where he is flying around using the floating cape.

All in all, it makes me very excited for the Blu-Ray release of the film, which will not only include the rest of the Gag Reel, but hopefully a commentary so we can hear either the director or the cast’s thoughts on the making of the movie while we are watching the film, and hear more stories about the kind of nonsense that went on behind the scenes that they did not manage to capture and put into the gag reel. Remember, ‘Doctor Strange’ will be on on digital HD tomorrow, while the Blu-Ray and DVD will be out on February 28th! Share your thoughts on the film’s special features and what you hope will be included in the comments below, and make sure to check out the clip from the gag reel below!
