life

I’m not going to lie, space-based science fiction horror is some of my favorites to watch and the Super Bowl teaser for ‘Life‘ delivers just that. Not only does it deliver, it but the entire thing seems to be channeling the same vibe of the movie that started my love for this subgenre – Ridley Scott’s 1979 ‘Alien.’ Thankfully, Sony Pictures has let director Daniel Espinosa (‘Safe House’,’Child 44′) run with the idea and give him a budget that allowed for names like Ryan Reynolds (‘Deadpool’,’Green Lantern’) and Jake Gyllenhaal (‘Donnie Darko’,’Nightcrawler’) be among the staff.

Not to mention everyone else for that matter.

The latest teaser really channels not just the tone but some of the scenes from ‘Alien’ and you’ll see what I mean by that when you watch the trailer below:

This is by no means as intense as the initial trailer was and seems to share less of the plot in favor for more action and thematic effects. This doesn’t sell me as much as the initial trailers but I’m still dying to see this one when it comes out.
