jango-fett

There hasn’t been much news rising to the surface for DC’s upcoming ‘Aquaman‘ as of late but we have just learned that Temuera Morrison (‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’,’Moana’) is in talks to play his father in the film! Clearly, we’re going to need someone who can carry their weight on the big screen if they are going to play the father of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and who better to do that than Boba Fett?

At this point, they are only talking but it is sounding like serious negotiations are in the works and it is more of a question of when we will hear the announcement that this is official and not if it will happen. Casting seems to be rounding up on the film as Nicole Kidman is in early negotiations to play Aquaman’s mother while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is working on portraying the villainous Black Manta.

Director James Wan is clearly stacking the deck with geek genre favorites while putting his film in the DC Extended Universe together. Hopefully, his casting choices will fare better than ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, and ‘Suicide Squad’.

One bonus of this casting is that like Momoa, Morrison is of Hawaiin descent so at least ethnicity wise they are trying to avoid the constant “whitewashing” that occurs in films.

Do you think that Temuera Morrison would be the perfect actor for Momoa to have as a father figure or will he only be around in flashback scenes and the two never actually interact? Share your thoughts below!

‘Aquaman’ is scheduled for an October 5th, 2018 release.
