UPDATED: A representative for 20th Century Fox informed us that the extended synopsis was fake so we took it down at their request. Below is the original article with the fake synopsis removed.

With the release of ‘Logan‘ right around the corner, one of the big questions has been finding out if X-23‘s origins would sync up with her comic introduction. A new synopsis released by the studio hints at the answer. With the two having a very close relationship in the comics, from Wolverine being her mentor and her being his clone, it will be interesting to see how it could play out in the film. As the movie is set pretty far into the future, it is also curious to see how she might end up back in modern times to continue on her role in the mutant universe.

Of course, with Cable coming back from the future in ‘Deadpool 2’ we already know that time travel will be on the table. With Jackman leaving the franchise and X-23 holding the mantle of Wolverine in the comics right now, the films might be attempting to set up a similar story arc.

Warning, this might contain spoilers to the film itself:

It sure sounds like Dafne Keen is going to play Logan’s clone as Laura or at the very least that they somehow used his DNA in evolving her into what she now is. Or, at the very least, are related somehow. With the reference of a “female stranger” above could even be her mother and an ex-lover of his.

My money is on the clone route, though.

Directed by James Mangold, ‘Logan’ stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, and Dafne Keen and claws its way into theaters on March 3, 2017.
