We’ve recently heard that Sterling K. Brown (‘This Is Us’) was in talks to join ‘Predator‘ and have just learned that genre veteran Thomas Jane (‘The Mist’,’The Expanse’) is also being eyed to join the cast. From ‘The Punisher’ to ‘The Crow: City of Angels’ to having just wrapped on the Netflix adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘1922’, we’ve seen this actor hit everything from comic book films to horror and honestly he would be a great pick for any action or horror film. He is currently in final negotiations to join Shane Black’s film though unlike most of the rest of the cast, the details for Jane’s role are still a mystery.
If it plays out, I can’t imagine Jane having a minor role and since we have a slew of Predators hunting down humans in the suburbs in the upcoming film, it will likely have the actor in some kind of a leading role. At least, one can hope.
If Jane joins the cast, we’ll see him working with Brown as well as Boyd Holbrook (‘Gone Girl’,’Narcos’), Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, and Olivia Munn. Shane Black has a lot of talent lined up so far and it really looks as if Fox is willing to bet big time on a return to the ‘Predator’ franchise which had helped solidify Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of the top action stars of the 80s.
Do you think that Thomas Jane will bring some great acting to ‘Predator’? What kind of a role do you think the film will be casting him in? Share your thoughts below!
