For everyone looking for even more ‘Star Wars Rebels’ easter eggs hidden within the amazing ‘Rogue One’ film, apparently there was one particularly juicy easter egg that could not be worked into the actual film, that could still play an important role in upcoming seasons of ‘Rebels.’

According to writer Pablo Hidalgo in his ‘Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide,’ in the section detailing Rebel spy Cassian Andor, it says that one of his “Operational Aliases” is listed as ‘FULCRUM.” For fans of ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ that name has a lot of weight. In the series, that name has gone to some very important and highly placed Rebel spies working very closely with the crew of the Ghost, with the first FULCRUM being Ahsoka Tano (former Padawan to Anakin Skywalker during the ‘Clone Wars’ series), and the latest FULCRUM being Agent Kallus, former villain in the series turned ally who has been helping our heroes in Season 3.

Does this mean that Cassian could be introduced as a new FULCRUM in seasons further down the road? Does this mean we could potentially have Diego Luna on ‘Star Wars Rebels’ playing Cassian Andor and working with the Ghost crew on missions, maybe giving us more of his backstory? The producers of ‘Rebels’ have stated they might do an episode in a few seasons showing the events of ‘Rogue One’ from the point of the view of the crew of the Ghost, it would be interesting if maybe they have a sub-plot assigned to them by FULCRUM Cassian and they are working behind the scenes with him during ‘Rogue One.’ Maybe they pick him up after he climbs out of that alley during his first scene in the movie? Perhaps they distract the Rebel forces so the Rogue One ship can take off to go steal those Death Star plans? Who knows? But the possibilities are endless.
