If you’ve been missing ‘Sense8,’ then Lana and Lilly Wachowski have the perfect Christmas present for you! The sisters are planning on delivering a Christmas special just in time for the holiday! We know that the second season is likely showing up in 2017 but now it appears that this special is set to come out just in time for the holidays.
Specifically, Netflix stated that there will be a “Christmas special coming December 23.” We had an inkling earlier this year that there would be a Christmas special when Jamie Clayton tweeted that a new episode was coming for it, however, this is the first time Netflix has officially given any information on it – including a release date!
Netflix hasn’t officially announced it or revealed a teaser at this time but it does appear on the show’s Netflix page so I suspect we’ll be hearing a lot more about this special sooner than later. We’ve had multiple indications that it will be ready for a 2017 release but when exactly it will be available to stream is still very much a mystery.
Hopefully, this is good news for the upcoming second season which we know was filming but have yet to hear on a release date for. However, as the first season was released in June of 2015, I suspect we may be hearing something about a June release of 2017. Of course, that is clearly just speculation.
