The Hulk might be unstoppable and Thor could be a God but according to Marvel’s Kevin Feige it looks as if Captain Marvel‘s powers are going to be “off the charts” when she shows up on screen! While Carol Danvers was originally introduced as Ms. Marvel, she’ll start off right as Captain Marvel in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and it sounds like she is already active in Marvel’s universe. If this is true, she just hasn’t been introduced as of yet and could, in fact, be of alien origin which could tease a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ cameo prior to her introduction in the 2018 release of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ or her own solo ‘Captain Marvel’ movie in 2019.

Last month Feige stated:

“With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had. It’s important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that.”

Now though he is doubling down on that statement by now saying:

“If you had the collector cards of the Marvel characters and you could see the power levels, she would be off the charts compared to anyone that we’ve previously introduced in a film.”

Still having a huge book full of the cards he is referencing from my childhood that sounds pretty amazing to me. This would put her at being stronger than both the Hulk and Thor which will make her an incredible asset to our heroes.

He also went on to say why Brie Larson was the perfect casting choice for the hero:

“With Captain Marvel, who has powers that approach a level that we haven’t seen before in our films, you need to counter- balance that by finding somebody who is also very human and very relatable and can get into a groove with the audience, where they’re willing to see her fly through the sun and punch a moon away from a spacecraft. At the same time, we need her to land and have relatable flaws.”

There is no real hint yet as to how she’ll be getting the powers in the film or if she will be partially Kree as she was in the comics. Between super strength, speed, durability, agility, reflexes, the ability to fly, energy blasts, and more – Captain Marvel is a force to be reckoned with in the comics and it sounds like they’ll be going that route in the films as well.
