Say what you will about Donald Trump but he has opened the doors for people with absolutely no political experience to run for president and in 2020 Ron Perlman (‘Hellboy’,’Sons of Anarchy’) will be doing just that! This infamous genre actor has the sights for his next role on a much more mainstream stage than what we’ll see from his work in the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ franchise as he’ll be trying to head to the Oval Office.
It looks like at least Kanye West and likely Ash from ‘Evil Dead’ will be running against him at that time.
Unlike Trump’s love for Twitter, Perlman took to Facebook and his 1.2 million followers to deliver the news that “I am hereby using my immense Facebook presence to announce my candidacy for President of United States, 2020.”
He even has a slogan ready which he revealed by his first comment on the announcement which states: “My slogan will be, “Make America Great Again, Again” so…hold onto your hats!”
Sounds like we’re in for a fun ride and since ‘Hellboy 3’ is unlikely to happen he does have some room on his plate. While he doesn’t have an official political party included with this announcement, he has in the past both bashed trump and wanted to have a “neural link” ‘Pacific Rim’ style with Obama so I suspect he’ll be on the Democrat ticket.
