With ‘Ant-Man‘ hitting theaters tonight, fans are preparing themselves to delve back into the MCU, which not only involves sitting back and enjoying the movie itself, but also keeping an eye out for Easter Eggs that tie the film into the rest of the MCU, as well as its comic roots. Collider recently sat down with Director Peyton Reed, who was kind enough to discuss where we should be looking for these Easter Eggs, without giving away any major plot points (see full video below).

#1 – Reed says to keep your eyes open whenever the characters are within Hank Pym’s house:

“I think anytime you’re in Hank Pym’s beautiful, Victorian house in San Francisco, you want to look around the room. You might notice certain details that sort of talk abut his history and his experimentation with the Pym particle. There might some miniaturized objects all around the room.”

#2 – Try to read the other headlines beside the main one whenever a newspaper is seen:

“When newspapers appear on screen, there are a couple newspapers that appear. There’s a main thing when I do an insert of a newspaper that you want to look at for a story. There also might be some other things in the margins of that newspaper that are interesting.”

#3 – Lastly, he speaks of Scott traveling to an unknown place in the third act, and recommends we keep our eyes open:

“There’s an event that happens to Scott Lang in the third act of the movie. He goes into a place that’s been unseen in any motion picture ever before, and when he goes into that place – I don’t think Scott Lang sees it, but if you’re sharp, if you’re a keen, sharp audience member you might see something or someone in that environment.”

I’m sure fans will find even more than that, but coming from the director, these are clearly the ones he thinks are most important, and I will definitely be on the look-out when I see the film.
