We’ve been learning a lot about ‘Logan‘ over the past week though with a new set of details emerging it looks as if we’ve learned who will play X-23 and what Richard E. Grant (‘Jekyll & Hide’,’Bram Stoker’s Dracula’) will be up to in the film. As the last movie that will star Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and the only piece of the X-Men franchise slated to be released next year, there is quite a bit at stake here.
We don’t exactly want a repeat of ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine‘ on our hands.
So who will be sharing screentime with the berzerker? An earlier rumor places Sienna Novikov (‘Daddy’s Home’) as Laura Kinney, the two-clawed Wolverine, and those rumors appear to be true. While it is doubtful she’ll be a clone of Logan as she was in the comics, it should be interesting to see how her character evolves and how they might try to use this fan favorite going forward as this film is set to take place in the future.
Now, the company behind turning mutants into weapons for the military is Transigen and Grant is set to play Dr. Zander Rice who is being described as “the mad scientist behind Transigen.” Previous hints, the end-scene of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ and even commentary from the film had Mister Sinister as the villain who now is apparently not in the movie. Assuming they haven’t written him off completely, we’ll probably see Sinister popping up in the next X-Men movie.

‘Logan’ will be popping his claws for one last time on March 3rd, 2017.
