It wouldn’t be another year if Blumhouse wasn’t about to deliver another microbudget and still top notch horror film. Now we hear they’ve just finalized the cast for ‘Insidious: Chapter 4‘! The company has taken the lower budget horror world by storm building a multitude of franchises that keep audiences coming back for more. This time around the latest installment will be directed by Adam Robitel (‘The Taking of Deborah Logan’) who has done just about everything in the film industry, but this will be one of his first directing gigs.

To start with, it is no surprise that Lin Shaye is returning as parapsychologist Elise Rainier with Leigh Whannell and Angus Sampson reprising their roles of Specs and Tucker. The new names though will consist of Kirk Acevedo (‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’,’12 Monkeys’), Bruce Davison(‘X-Men’,’Harry and the Hendersons’), Spencer Locke (‘Resident Evil: Extinction’,’Monster House’), Caitlin Gerard (‘The Social Network’,’Smiley’), and Ava Kolker (‘Girl Meets World’,’Scary Movie 5′). I’m not going to lie, this might be one of my favorite lineups to date and I’m a bit excited to see how it plays out on the big screen.

Honestly, the concept was almost starting to feel a little old until I saw the new cast listing and I think they might have a real opportunity to do something fun here if they don’t rehash the same plots that we’ve seen so far.

On the production end of things we’ll see Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and James Wan producing the film with Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Charles Layton on board as executive producers.

As always with films like this, we have no idea as to the exact plot so far but if you’ve seen the first 3 films it should come as no surprise that we’ll likely be seeing a family being haunted by an evil spirit.

Are you looking forward to ‘Insidious: Chapter 4’? Which actor are you most excited to see included in the next installment? Share your thoughts below!
