SPOILER ALERT: This contains SPOILERS for ‘The Flash’ Season 3, so proceed with caution!

We already know that when ‘The Flash’ returns this fall, it will be a dramatically different experience, since Barry (Grant Gustin) went back in time and changed history.  For starters, Barry will not have moved in with Joe West or been raised alongside Iris, resulting in a very different lead hero.  The storyline is loosely based on the DC Comics miniseries ‘Flashpoint’ which reimagined a VERY different DCU.

But how will this impact Barry’s supporting cast.  Danielle Panabaker, who plays brainy Caitlin Snow on the series, avoided revealing too many spoilers, but she did comment on her status with sidekick Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes).

“Do they even know each other?”

Hmmm, not much  to go on there, but Panabaker did offer this tease:

“Totally different.  All the relationships are very different.”

Panabaker didn’t reveal any more about the status of her character, but we do know that the ‘Flashpoint’ world’s Cisco Ramon will be very different.  This version is wealthy and powerful, unlike the super geek sidekick we’ve all come to know over the past two seasons.

And of course, last season, we saw Caitlin as the vicious Killer Frost on Earth 2.  How much more different will this Caitlin be?

Unfortunately, that’s all we know about ‘Flashpoint’ up til now.  (The show doesn’t return until October after all.)

But as a bonus, executive producer Greg Berlanti did offer a bit of info regarding this year’s epic team up.  Gustin’s Barry Allen debuted on ‘Arrow’ before spinning off into his own show, but characters from both continue to pop up on one-another’s shows and there have been full-on crossovers for two years now.  Likewise, the various heroes on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ originated on both ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ before combining their talents on last season’s big team-up series.  This upcoming season, ‘Legends’ will join in on the crossover hijinks AS WILL ‘Supergirl’ which is transferring over to The CW from CBS.

Berlanti didn’t reveal too much but did state:

“I’m going to probably try to have one unifying threat, as opposed to different things on different ones, which is what the first year was.”

It’s widely believed that the crossover event will result in Supergirl and her cast (and city) being transported to the same reality as the existing CW shows, since it was revealed last year that ‘Supergirl’ existed on a parallel universe from that of ‘The Flash’ et. al.

What would you like to see happen in this season of ‘The Flash’?
