The big question on the minds of anyone who is a fan of the CW/DC Universe (or as some call it, the ‘Arrowverse’), is what the catalyst is going to be this season that will start the big cross-over event that will occur on ‘Supergirl,’ ‘The Flash,’ ‘Arrow,’ and then ‘Legends of Tomorrow.’ According to ‘Arrow’ executive producer Marc Guggenheim, who spoke recently at San Diego Comic-Con, something powerful will compel Supergirl to leave her own show and travel over to Earth-1 where she will meet up with the other heroes, though what exactly the threat is we still do not know:
“It’s an external threat from outside the shows that will involve Supergirl coming over to The Flash, then Arrow then Legends of Tomorrow.”
We do however know now that the cross-over event will have Supergirl as the through line, the one visiting every show, but whether other heroes will go with her is yet to be seen. And of course, she will visit each show in order of when they air, starting with ‘The Flash’ on Tuesday, then ‘Arrow’ on Wednesday, and ending with ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ on Thursday. And the other big question, and big speculation, is that somehow at the end of the big cross-over event, the universe of ‘Supergirl’ will somehow merge with Earth-1, thus allowing her, the characters on her show, and any plot lines from her show more easy access to the other CW DC shows.
What are your theories on what the big threat might be? Did anyone else wonder (as I did) whether the consequences of ‘The Flash’ and his Flashpoint Paradox storyline might be to change time/the multiverse and merge Supergirl’s world with Earth 1?
