SPOILER ALERT: This article contains SPOILERS for ‘Suicide Squad’ so proceed with caution.

We’ve known for quite some time that Batman (Ben Affleck) had a role in ‘Suicide Squad’.  We still don’t exactly know how large a role it is, but he’s in there, as seen in various trailers.  At first, it seemed as if ‘Suicide Squad’ would essentially be a stand-alone movie, but as it gets closer to hitting theaters, we are learning that it may actually tie into the larger DC Expanded Universe even more than anyone suspected.  First, there was the reveal that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor would play a part.  Now we’re learning that another member of the ‘Justice League’ will appear.

It seems that some folks have seen the end credits which are listed in order of appearance.  The first name on the list is Deadshot played by Will Smith, followed by random prison guards and soldier types.  Later on the list, Jai Courtney’s name appears, playing Captain Boomerang.  But another name appears right after his.

Once again, SPOILER ALERT!

Suicide-Squad-Flash-Boomerang

It appears that WB slipped in a clue in the footage they unveiled at SDCC, depicting Captain Boomerang getting struck by lightning (?) inside of what looks like a bank vault and knocked backwards.

But as it turns out, that’s no ordinary bolt of lightning.  The name that appears after Coutney’s is Ezra Miller who makes a cameo as The Flash!  From the sound of things, it looks as if we will not only see Boomerang as an inmate at Belle Reve prison, but we’ll see how he gets there, courtesy of the Scarlet Speedster. Could this have been part of the reason for the reshoots that occurred a few months ago?

This establishes that Barry Allen continued to pursue a career fighting crime after his incident in the convenience store shown in ‘Batman V Superman’.

What do you think about The Flash appearing in ‘Suicide Squad’?  Are you more excited?

‘Suicide Squad’ starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne breaks out on August 5, 2016.
