Love or hate the live-action ‘Transformers‘ films that Michael Bay has put together there will always be a love for the original television show and Machina and Hasbro have teamed up to deliver the ultimate tribute by giving us the ultimate battle for the universe. This will be a new story that isn’t “good vs evil” but something else entirely. The show is called ‘Transformers: Combiner Wars’ and at this time there are only eight episodes planned for the mini-series and no word on how long they’ll be.
In this series, the battle for Earth is over and we see both Autobots and Decepticons having returned to Cybertron, both under new leadership. While Megatron and Optimus Prime are still around it appears to be Starscream, Rodimus Prime, and one other who are in charge. It is unclear if the two factions are still at war but it is quite obvious that a new Combiner faction is looking to destroy or rule everything.

Honestly, the art is beautiful and there are a ton of nods to the past in this amazingly brief trailer that is a Generation 1 inspired series. The only downside that I can see is that it is being released on go90 which I have never heard of and am hoping that this won’t be behind a subscription firewall, or if it is that they’ll offer it up on a more known streaming service shortly after.
With the focus being on G1 characters I have to say that I am just as excited to see that there are classics as well as new faces being shown. Ideally, if this is a success I hope that we’ll

Synopsis:
The Autobots and Decepticons have disbanded and returned to Cybertron. With the days of Optimus Prime and Megatron over, Cybertron is now ruled by a triumvirate.
