As we head into Comic Con, the major studios are steadily dropping news and tidbits about the next year’s worth of offerings and included in the mix is Warner Brothers, who already plan on dominating the weekend with several exclusive premiers. But in anticipation, WB is teasing fans with some additional treats.
Gal Gadot already successfully stole ‘Batman V Superman’ from the two headlining male heroes with her all-too-brief cameo as Wonder Woman (or Miss Prince, if you rather). Next year, she twirls into her own solo movie and expectations are high.
Patty Jenkins directed the first DC solo female-led movie which pairs Gadot with Chris Pine. Now here are some new photos featuring Gadot, Pine and Jenkins on the set.
The most striking thing to take away from these images, especially the last one, is that Warner Brothers is actually lightening up, literally. Gadot’s Wonder Woman costume is much brighter and more colorful than the drab armor she sported in ‘BvS’. Sure, they were going for a more realistic vibe on that one, but with that set-up out of the way, it’s nice to see the creators embracing the comic book roots.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
‘Wonder Woman’ directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis will be released on June 23, 2017.
