Fans of Marvel/ Netflix’s ‘Daredevil‘ series are mostly folk who currently have Netflix, and have been able to watch the seasons online on the streaming service. Oddly enough, however, there has not been a way for people without Netflix to view the series for themselves, as ‘Daredevil’ has yet to have a home video release. Luckily, it seems that all fans of the show (and hopefully some new ones) will soon have a whole new way to experience the adventures of Matt Murdock and company when the ‘Daredevil’ Season 1 Blu-ray is released on October 3rd, 2016.
The news comes to us from Zavvi.com, who tells us that the box-art that has been released is still subject to change, and that apparently there are a few different editions of the season available for pre-order. What each edition might included has not yet been revealed, but as ‘Daredevil’ is a Marvel series, there’s a good chance the show will include at the very least a gag reel, deleted scenes, and commentary, and if we are lucky, maybe even a Marvel One-Shot tying the world of ‘Daredevil’ even more closely into that of the main MCU.
What are your thoughts on ‘Daredevil’ coming to Blu-Ray? Does it even have an audience, since most people are just watching on Netflix anyway? Share your opinions on the matter in the comments below!
Marvel’s Daredevil, or simply Daredevil, is an American web television series created for Netflix by Drew Goddard, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and is the first in a series of shows that will lead up to a Defenders crossover miniseries. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and Goddard Textiles, with DeKnight Productions for the first season. Steven S. DeKnight serves as showrunner on the first season, with Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez taking over for the second; Goddard serves as a consultant on both seasons.
