It took 40 years in the making, but Terence Malick’s ‘’Voyage Of Time’ will finally be in theaters this Fall!
The film marks the first documentary for Malick who’s known for his unique work in cinema which blends the visual with the philosophical. ‘Voyage of Time’ is no exception. A visually awe-inspiring film, the trailer gives just a brief glimpse of what movie goers can expect as they are transported into an “up-close-and-personal journey that spans the eons from the Big Bang to the dinosaur age to our present human world … and beyond.”
Just like the director himself, the release of the film will be extraordinary. There will be 2 versions of the film available in two formats: For release in theaters, there will be a 90 minute version called ‘Voyage Of Time: Life’s Journey’ which will be narrated by Cate Blanchett and bring audiences on a “poetic and provocative ride full of open questions” while the exclusive IMAX version, ‘Voyage of Time: The IMAX Experience,’ will be a 40-minute, giant-screen adventure narrated by Brad Pitt which will immerse audiences directly into the story of the universe and life itself.
The film has been described by Wild Bunch as “…a celebration of the earth, displaying the whole of time, from the birth of the universe to its final collapse. This film examines all that went to prepare the miracle that stands before us now. Science and spirit, birth and death, the grand cosmos and the minute life systems of our planet — all come together in Malick’s most ambitious film to date.”
For lovers of the cosmos, both films are not to be missed! Take a look at the trailer below and let us know if you are excited about the film as much as I am! And check back here on ScienceFiction.com for more news on this project as it comes available!
‘Voyage of Time’ will travel into IMAX theaters on October 7th.
