Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story‘ always loves to reuse actors in fun new roles and we’ve just learned that Cheyenne Jackson (’30 Rock’,’United 93′) is set to return for the sixth season of FX’s anthology series. Jackson made his first appearance last season as Lady Gaga’s latest financial love interest as the new hotel owner, Will Drake. What is even more interesting about his interview with Out magazine where this was revealed is that he also states that filming for the mysterious sixth season has begun!
Among many others, we do know that he’ll be joining Leslie Jordan, Lady Gaga, and Angela Bassett. Sadly, unless she is trolling the world, Jessica Lange still isn’t set to return to the show.
There are plenty of rumors as to what story, or stories (as they are again using the plot device of being set in two time periods), the season will cover. As Murphy usually shrouds the series in mystery until it is getting closer to airing, we still aren’t sure what plot is being worked on. Though previously FX’s Jonathan Landgraf stated that it is “set in the present” but due to having “echoes of the past” in it, we’ll see that it is actually “set in two time periods” even though it is “principally in the present”.
However Murphy later stated that it won’t be like anything we’ve seen before as:
“The interesting thing about this season is we’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done. So I don’t want to say what it maybe is. Both things that we’re writing right now — we haven’t declared a winner — will have a different form, so we’re excited about that. We’ll talk about it soon, but we haven’t landed on it yet.”
We’ve seen multiple time periods connected before but it sounds like this will be two with stories that might be unrelated. As usual, Murphy is pretty vague.
