Many details have been scarce about the adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower‘ so we’re a bit excited to share a promotional teaser image from Idris Elba (‘Thor: The Dark World’,’Pacific Rim‘). Unfortunately, I do have to stress that this is a teaser in every sense of the word as we’re not getting a set photo or anyone in costume here but a saying that will be known to many from the book and an image that fans should appreciate. For those that haven’t read King’s epic, this one might not mean too much right off the bat.

Thankfully this one isn’t quite a spoiler as King’s last tweet about the series might have been.

Let’s take a quick look:

In the novels, we know that Roland Deschain isn’t just a descendant of King Arthur but also the last of the gunslingers who were trained and sworn to protect their realm. A common insult that is used in King’s masterpiece is “you have forgotten the face of your father” which is to say that someone is acting dishonorably and bringing shame on their family name.

Roland doesn’t tend to suffer from this problem.

Are you looking forward to checking out ‘The Dark Tower’ when it is released next year? Was this one too little of a tease for you or are you pumped to see more? Share your thoughts below!

Roland will begin his journey to ‘The Dark Tower’ on February 17, 2017.
