Our last rumor for ‘Justice League: Part One‘ places Steppenwolf as the villain in the movie and now the latest shares some of the major plot points as well as what Darkseid will be up to. Much like Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we won’t be seeing a whole lot of Darkseid doing much aside from hanging out in the shadows though with how the movie is set to open we could see him briefly in battle.

While these are rumors they could also be spoilers so of course if you don’t want to know what the films might be about yet I have to warn you to head back now!

What we had heard initially is that “Darkseid is a presence in the movie, and fully appears at the end of the film, but don’t expect him to do much.”

However, an expansion to the rumor now also seems that we’ll be seeing Darkseid at the introduction of the film through a flashback. If the flashback is true, we’ll actually be going back far into the history of Earth:

Around 30,000 years ago, the Amazonians, the Atlanteans, and Man successfully fought off Darkseid here on Earth. He left three motherboxes behind and that folks is what Steppenwolf is after in Justice League: Part One. That is pretty much your plot. You can see Steppenwolf and the three motherboxes in the deleted “Communion” scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

With Atlanteans being important to the world that could be why Amber Heard is playing Mera who is generally depicted as Aquaman’s wife as well as a few other recent casting announcements.

You can check out the cut scene that was mentioned below:

Sounds like we’re in for a treat seeing an early shot of a younger Darkseid and potentially a reason as to why he wants to claim the Earth. If this is accurate, it makes sense to why we’ll be seeing these events unfold over the two films.

Do you think that not using Darkseid as a major player until ‘Justice League: Part Two’ is the right choice? Do you think we’ll get some action sequences with the character or will he be regulated to the background? Share your thoughts below!

‘Justice League – Part One’ directed by Zack Snyder is slated to open on November 17, 2017, while ‘Aquaman’ directed by James Wan will swim into theaters on July 27, 2018.
