One-time Hollywood It Girl Sharon Stone is about to stone theaters again in an upcoming Marvel movie.  While appearing on ‘The Late, Late Show With James Corden’, the actress, now 58 years-old, let slip:

“I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements.”

Let the debates begin!  There are several movies in the pipeline, from ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ or even ‘Avengers: Infinity War – Part One’, not to mention ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ or even the recently wrapped ‘Doctor Strange’!

But could she have spilled more than one might think upon first reader her statement?  A “wee” part you say?

Could she be playing the mysteriously missing Janet Van Dyne in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’?  It was hinted that Janet, Hank Pym’s wife was lost in the microverse, believed to be dead.  But could the sequel lead to her daughter Hope, who is expected to take on the role of The Wasp, lead to her recovery?

One major fan nudge is that Hank Pym is played by Michael Douglas, Stone’s co-star in the film that made her a household name, 1992’s ‘Basic Instinct’!  Older cinephiles would most likely be delighted to see these two reunited on the big screen!  (Stone reprised her role of Catherine Tramell in the mostly forgotten ‘Basic Instinct 2’ but without Douglas.)

You can watch Stone’s James Corden interview below:

Of course, Stone has the dubious honor of having already starred in a terrible comic book movie, 2004’s universally despised ‘Catwoman’.  Stone played the bad guy, cosmetics mogul Laurel Hedare opposite Halle Berry as the title hero.  Let’s hope her next turn in a comic book flick works out better than that pile of kitty litter.

Stone rocketed to fame in the ’90s, garnering an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe win for her role in Martin Scorsese’s ‘Casino’ which also starred Robert DeNiro, James Woods and Joe Pesci.  She also had notable roles in ‘Total Recall‘ with Arnold Schwarzenegger and ‘The Quick & The Dead’ opposite a young Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe and Gene Hackman.  She also won an Emmy for a guest starring role on the TV show ‘The Practice’.

Although her career lost some of its heat, she has worked continuously over the years and is also a tireless activist working with various environmental and AIDS campaigns.

Should Stone be joining the cast of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’, she will be working with Douglas, Paul Rudd, and Evangeline Lily (as her daughter Hope).

Would you like to see Sharon Stone as Janet Van Dyne?  Or is there another Marvel role she’d be better suited for?
