Directors Joe and Anthony Russo may have just accidentally confirmed a bombshell of a rumor that Captain Marvel will make her debut appearance in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘!

Considering we already knew that new characters were being introduced in the film this seemed like one of the logical choices. The pair were recently at a Marvel themed event at the Smithsonian Institute of all places and attendees were using the #MarvelAtSI hashtag on Twitter to let everyone know what was going on when the unofficial announcement came out. According to Tweets they said they were excited to have Captain Marvel make an appearance in the film which they immediately corrected with “Um….Captain Barvel. Totally different character.”

Yeah, we’re not buying it either folks. This is clearly when she’ll be showing up and those in the crowd agree!

Now to be completely fair this isn’t all that surprising. While ‘Civil War’ is set to include most of Earth’s Greatest Heroes it is clear that ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ has to be even grander in scale with Thanos going after universal domination. You’ll need characters of her caliber and as a film with her has been in the works since 2014 it would be more surprising for a cosmically charged character to not show up.

I wouldn’t call this at all a shocker but it is good to hear that we’ll finally be seeing her on the big screen when ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1’ (soon to be renamed) is released on May 4th, 2018 prior to her own film being released on March 8th, 2019.

Are you looking forward to the initial appearance of ‘Captain Marvel’? Do you think we’re in for something special when Carol finally does make it to the big screen? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
