Secret Warriors and Inhumans and HYDRA, oh my! Following the season finale of ‘Agent Carter’ next week, ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will return the week after to face some of the biggest threats they’ve ever faced. And while we’ve learned a bit about what to expect during the second half of the third season, a new synopsis has been released that gives us an even better look at the threats on the horizon for Director Phil Coulson and the whole gang.

Thanks to a few tidbits here and there, we know that the Secret Warriors will rise and that whatever Grant Ward has turned is pretty dangerous. But what else is going to happen once the mid-season premiere titled ‘Bouncing Back’ drops in two weeks? Comic Book Movie recently shared this extended synopsis for the return of the popular ABC superhero drama:

In the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick and put an end to HYDRA once and for all. Meanwhile, Daisy and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

No longer able to keep powered people out of the public eye, Daisy and Mack press forward to find more Inhumans, building a team of secret warriors whose mission is to train and protect powered people. However, the growing presence of Inhumans proves to be a polarizing issue, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team must face conflicting public opinions and defend their team from groups who have a more extreme ideology.

The divide between those who want to protect Inhumans and those who seek to destroy them is constantly widening, and HYDRA, now strengthened by Grant Ward, looms once again. However, Ward is no longer the same villainous traitor that they once knew, and the team faces an all-new enemy, whose motivations, goals and strengths are unclear. Uncertain about who (or what) they are facing, the stakes for S.H.I.E.L.D. and their assembled group of Secret Warriors are higher than ever, bringing some members of the team closer together and driving others apart. Will S.H.I.E.L.D. be able to stop one of the most powerful Inhumans to walk the Earth?

With all of this happening in the first episode back, it definitely sounds like business is about to pick up on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’. But which part are you most excited to see unfold? Are you curious about the line up for the live-action version of the Secret Warriors? What do you think Malick and HYDRA will do with their new secret weapon? And where do the rest of the team like Fitz, Simmons, Mockingbird, Hunter, and May fit into all of this? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments below.

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ starring Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Luke Mitchell, and Clark Gregg returns on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 9:00 pm on ABC.
