There has been a lot of speculation as to why C-3PO has a red left arm in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and an upcoming mini-series that will drop next month from Marvel simply titled ‘Star Wars Special: C-3PO’ will be answering that question! The book was written by James Robinson with both the art and main cover handled by Tony Harris. While I’ve loved the current run of ‘Star Wars’ Marvel books I’m not sure that I’m sold on the style Harris uses in his.
We were previously told that “C-3PO is uncharacteristically quiet when it comes to discussing his salvaged arm; it is a memento of another droid’s sacrifice” so it will be interesting to see if it is from a Droid who has saved C-3PO or what kind of sacrifice is meant.
What can we expect to find in the book? Here is the issue’s official synopsis:

Not only do we have the synopsis and cover but a few pages from the book as well to tease what we’ll see on page:
While the new arm was interesting in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ C3PO had already had it restored by the movie’s end so I’m curious as to exactly what kind of a story we’ll be told that is interesting enough to flesh out how it ended up being replaced in the first place.
