Star Wars VIII

Director Rian Johnson seems to have a sense of humor with the working title he has selected for ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII‘ as it is being known as ‘Space Bear: Episode VIII’. In a recent tweet, Carrie Fisher shared a picture of the working title, its logo, and her French bulldog Gary who is sitting in what is likely Fisher’s or Johnson’s production chair. I’m honestly not sure what is my favorite part about the picture, seeing Gary again or the idea of a space opera about panda bears called ‘Space Bears’ and that there are 8 episodes of it in the works.

While production has already started, I suspect we won’t be hearing too much about the film for awhile as the marketing machine for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘ is set to be ramping up in the next few months with the film set to drop on December 16th, 2016. We’ve previously been told that all of major characters from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ would be reprising their roles with Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran joining the cast. I’m sure we’re all wondering how a certain character will be making a comeback or if the “all major characters” was a bit of a stretch.

So if you happen to see any news about ‘Space Bears’ or ‘Space Bears: Episode VIII’ being filmed make sure to snag a picture and drop us a line!

‘Star Wars: Episode 8’ will be released on a theater not in a galaxy far far away on December 15th, 2017.
