As ‘Agent Carter’ comes closer to wrapping up their time in Hollywood, ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is gearing up for the introduction of the Secret Warriors. Agent Daisy Johnson’s team of Inhuman heroes has been teased since the beginning of the current season and now it looks like we’ll finally get to see them assemble to take on HYDRA and the resurrected Grant Ward.
Earlier this week, we got our first look at the Secret Warriors in a new promo teasing all the action in the mid-season premiere of ABC’s first series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Throughout the preview, you can see Director Coulson, Quake, Lincoln, and more mix it up with their greatest foes that have evolved to bring a danger unlike the world has ever seen. And in a blink or you’ll miss it type of moment, we also get a glimpse of Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena Rodriguez. Described by Marvel.com as “a tough, street-wise Colombian woman given Inhuman abilities”, Elena is based on the character Slingshot from Jonathan Hickman’s acclaimed ‘Secret Warriors’ comic series. Basically a speedster with a twist, Elena AKA “Yo Yo” can blast off at super speeds, but then bounces back to the place where she began running from (hence the codename). You can see her in action in the promo, but here’s a still offering the first official look at the hero:
