Director James Gunn is making fans everywhere happy today by teasing us with the first official ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘ set photo! Not only that, but we’ve gotten some juicy casting confirmations to share with you as well. Previously rumored Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell are now 100% attached to the film but also we’ve learned that newcomers Elizabeth Debicki (‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’,’The Great Gatsby’) and Chris Sullivan (‘The Drop’,’The Knick’) will be joining the cast as well.

At this time, it isn’t clear if these actors will be playing friends or foes of our Guardians though it was rumored that Russell would be playing Star-Lord’s father. While not playing the character who is Peter Quill’s father in the comics, the two have always had a very strained relationship, to put it lightly, so I could see them being at odds in the film. The one casting that was confirmed is that Klementieff will be playing Mantis so will most likely end up aiding Quill and his friends.

It looks like the team is back together and I for one couldn’t be happier! I am a bit surprised though that Groot looks to still be on the sapling side and am hoping that is just for the promotional image and we’ll be seeing him as the towering hulking tree once more.
