Coldplay performed during the half time show at the Super Bowl, so fittingly one of their songs appears in the new ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ trailer. Set to a moody cover of ‘Beautiful World’, the clip looks anything but beautiful as missiles launch into the sky and while the various mutants traipse across decimated battlegrounds.
Perhaps the biggest reveal is of Olivia Munn in action as Psylocke, somersaulting and slashing her way into action with her psychic blade. We also get a look at Apocalypse using his size changing powers to take down Charles Xavier, plus quick clips of Magneto, Mystique, Angel, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Quicksilver and the rest duking it out.
It looks like director Bryan Singer wanted to exit the franchise with a bang!
Check out the new clip below:
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ starring Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor Charles Xavier), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Ben Hardy (Angel), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse) opens in theaters on May 27, 2016.
