We already knew that Hulk would be showing up with Thor in ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ and the film will be a buddy movie, but now it sounds like the duo be on a cosmic road trip. In a recent interview in Empire Magazine, Mark Ruffalo actually brought up some great comparisons of the chemistry Thor and Hulk might have while on screen. I love that Marvel Studios has been continuing to try and make each film have their own theme while still clearly falling into the realm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this sounds as if it will continue the trend.

Here is what Ruffalo had to say:

“There’s a little bit of Midnight Run, with [Charles] Grodin and [Robert] De Niro…I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner…It is a universal road movie – that’s where we’re heading…It’s not where you’d think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie but it has that structure, I think.”

With Ragnarok being in the title I’m not sure if it will be a road trip of the Nine Realms or perhaps through the Realms to get to a specific destination. With the inclusion of a scene from what looked to be Hel in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ I wouldn’t be too surprised if our heroes had to journey there for whatever their quest ends up being.

With a trip to Hel I would think that the movie shouldn’t be all fun and games but Ruffalo does say:

“I love Chris [Hemsworth], and it’s not an accident that we’ve been put together because we have a good time together and we goof off. The fact that we’re moving towards the smart-comedic bent plays into our relationship.”

Are you looking forward to ‘Thor: Ragnarok’? Do you think the chemistry of these two will work for the film or against the fact that Ragnarok tends to be involving the end of the Norse gods? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will be showing up on the big screen on November 3rd, 2017.
