Supergirl-Legion-of-Superheroes

While attending the Television Critics Association winter press tour, DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns made one juicy announcement:

“Keep watching…You’ll see a hint of the Legion on one of our shows.”

Hmmm, but which one?

The Legion of Super Heroes are a team of adolescent superheroes from various planets who band together to protect the United Planets in the 30th century of the DC Universe.  Among their powerful members are, Superboy and Supergirl, thanks to the magic of time travel.  The team’s most noticeable trait is its volume, boasting over thirty members at a time.

Currently, DC has four TV shows, The CW’s ongoing ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ as well as limited-run show ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, while CBS is the home of ‘Supergirl’.  Of these, it’s pretty much a given that ‘Arrow’ will not be the show to feature the Legion.  Time and dimensional travel are heavily featured on ‘The Flash’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ is built around time travel.  On the other hand, ‘Supergirl’ is actually a member of the Legion in the comics.  So any of these three are possible candidates.

Johns himself penned an episode of ‘Smallville’ in which the Legion appeared and the characters headlined their own animated series.

“I love the Legion.  They’re underused and hopefully we’ll get them out there soon.”

Indeed, while the team is a comic book institution, their comic has been plagued with recurring problems for years and for the first time in decades, they don’t currently star in their own series.

In addition to Superboy and Supergirl, the team also includes (deep breath): Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Triplicate Girl, Phantom Girl, Chameleon Boy, Invisible Kid I, Kid Quantum, Star Boy, Brainiac 5, Sun Boy, Shrinking Violet, Bouncing Boy, Ultra Boy, Mon-El, Matter-Eater Lad, Element Lad, Lightning Lass (also known as Light Lass at times), Dream Girl, Ferro Lad, Karate Kid, Princess Projectra (later Sensor Girl), Shadow Lass, Timberwolf, Wildfire, Tyroc, Dawnstar, Blok, Invisible Kid II, White Witch and many, many more.

On which show would you like to see the Legion of Super Heroes?  Would you be interested in these heroes getting their own show?
