Though we may not officially know a whole lot about ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ just yet, some fans have diligently filled in the gaps with their own canon thanks to rumors and speculation. And funny enough, some of these fan theories have turned out to be correct. For example, before the identity of Fulcrum was revealed on ‘Star Wars Rebels’, the show’s viewers figured out that it was indeed Ahsoka Tano from ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ providing the crew of the Ghost with intelligence. But what do the cast and crew think of some of the other hypotheses that connect the popular Disney XD animated series to J.J. Abrams’ Episode VII? We found out at New York Comic Con.

Following their panel at this year’s NYCC where they debuted a brand new trailer and clip featuring the new villain known as the Seventh Sister, the representatives from ‘Star Wars Rebels’ joined members of the press for an extended question and answer session in the bowels of the Javits Center. The press conference saw Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Seventh Sister), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano), Taylor Gray (Ezra Bridger), and executive producer Dave Filoni talk about a number topics including the villains of season two, working with James Earl Jones as he reprises his role of Darth Vader, what Ahsoka was up to during her absence, and how the actors would like to see their characters incorporated into Star Wars Land at the Disney Parks. But when someone brings up the notion that Ezra may grow up to be Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren in ‘The Force Awakens’, Gray gets super excited at the sound of the theory before Filoni weighs in with his thoughts on it. You can check out what the producer had to say along with many more highlights in the video below:
