If you had any doubts as to whether Netflix’s series ‘Jessica Jones’ based on Marvel’s gritty adults-only series ‘Alias’, this new teaser clip should lay those to rest.  And speaking of rest…

That’s all the title former hero wants at 3pm, but that pesky alarm clock has other plans.  But the clock will soon learn not to interrupt Ms. Jones when she’s sleeping off a bender in her ramshackle apartment.

In the comics, Jessica Jones was a powerful superhero named Jewel who never quite managed to make it to the big leagues.  After being mentally enslaved by Zebediah Kilgrave, she hung up her white tights and became a hard boiled private eye, spending her free time getting wasted and sleeping around… including a memorable encounter with Luke Cage that put the M in “Mature Readers.”

Though the clip is brief, it does give a peak at the reality of the adaptation which appears to remain faithful to the grounded comic book series.

To be fair, who hasn’t felt like destroying something when they heard Minnie Ripterton’s ‘Lovin’ You’?  If you ask me, that clock had it coming!

Marvel’s Jessica Jones will follow the titular superheroine “after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint” and as she is now “rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.” Starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), David Tennant (Kilgrave) among others, the 13-episode Jessica Jones series will premiere on Netflix Nov., 20, 2015.
