During ‘Ant-Man‘ we did not get to see much of Janet Van Dyne/ The Wasp due to her being dead (stuck in the Quantum Realm) in the present, but in a flashback we did get to see her on her last mission with Hank Pym, diffusing a missile heading for the U.S.. In that scene it was difficult to make out her costume, aside from knowing it looked similar to the one Hank Pym was wearing, with the addition of wings. Yet even her brief appearance meant a lot to fans, who have felt for some time that Marvel needed to add the Wasp and Ant-Man to the MCU as they are founding members of the Avengers in the comics. Seeing her pop up even briefly in ‘Ant-Man’ was satisfying, especially now that we know why she was not there to help found the Avengers.
And with the future of the Wasp bright, especially after the reveal of the new costume at the end of the movie for Evangeline Lily to wear (whether that be in a new ‘Avengers’ film, the ‘Ant-Man’ sequel, or some other film, who knows), concept art has finally been leaked to the internet with what the Wasp suit originally looked like according to one designer. It looks pretty cool, similar to Janet Van Dyne’s original Wasp suit from the comics, albeit with the Ant-Man color scheme. In the final film more silver was added and the triangle atop the helmet was cut off, but this is definitely a good look at what her costume was like, especially since the brief moments we saw it in the film did not give us an especially sharp look at it.
