“I’m sorry lady,” says Denis O’Hare’s new ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ character Liz Taylor, “This is a no-tell motel.”  What secrets are Liz and the other staff and visitors hiding?  We’ll have to wait until October 7th to begin exploring the mysterious Hotel Cortez, but the cast members are ready to divulge some clues in this new first look video!

Sarah Paulson (Hypodermic Sally) praises “the costumes, the hair, the makeup, the sets” which help the actors feel like they are actually living in this nightmarish parallel world and hopefully that will translate to the audience as well.  From the looks of things, the creators have gone to great lengths to create a stylish yet sinister realm for this season’s spooky goings-on.

Other cast members Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Max Greenfield, Chloë Sevigny and Cheyenne Jackson also chime in one what makes this season so “spooky-wooky.”

One spook for sure is the Addiction Demon, who looks like he is encased in melted wax.  We’ve already seen two photos of him, but we get to see him actually move in the video.

Get your first real glimpse of the new season, including a lot of never-before-seen footage below:

What we do know so far, is that Lady Gaga plays Elizabeth, also known as The Countess, a woman who is extremely long-lived thanks to a taste for human blood.  But unlike vampires of old, she doesn’t have fangs and uses a stylish gauntlet with a blade in one fingernail to slice open her victims.  This affliction is shared with her two suitors; Donovan, her domesticated long-time companion, played by Bomer and Tristan, a new interest with an addictive personality, played by Wittrock.  The Countess also serves as the mother to a brood of creepy platinum-haired children.  Finally, one other person seems to share her immortality, Ramona Royale, another former lover played by Bassett.

Gaga is the owner of the Hotel Cortez, which was built in the 1930s by Evan Peter’s Mr. March, a millionaire who apparently built the hotel to conceal and accommodate his dark desires and practices.  The Countess will surely benefit from these custom upgrades.

Bates plays Donovan’s mother, Iris, who works the front desk at the Hotel Cortez, while O’Hare is Liz Taylor, the ugliest drag queen of all time, who harbors an obsession over the famed film goddess of the same name and works as the bartender.

Bentley and Sevigny play a married couple whose relationship is strained by a recent tragedy.  Meanwhile, Bently’s character, Detective John Lowe is investigating a serial killer, who at least at first, doesn’t seem to have a connection to the Hotel in which he is staying.

Also worth noting, this season promises to draw together elements and characters from the previous four installments of ‘AHS’ so look for some familiar faces to drop in for a stay… however brief.
