We already know that ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ focuses on vampire-like beings who drink blood as well as Hollywood-style drug addiction, with Sarah Paulson’s character going by the colorful moniker Hypodermic Sally. And newcomer Max Greenfield described his character Gabriel saying, “He’s a Hollywood junkie. Originally, he had a job and was more preppy or business. And Ryan [Murphy] came back and was like, ‘I think we should be more rock and roll.’” Creator Ryan Murphy described his change in appearance saying “He cut off his beautiful hair and dyed it and we had to let the roots grow in… I think he’s lost 30 pounds.”
The new teaser clip plays on the ideas of drugs, blood and… well, hotels, as we see someone (possibly Gabriel) getting ready to shoot up, but instead of inserting a needle into his arm, he inserts a key into a keyhole. Whether this is meant to be taken literally or symbolically is unknown, but it’s a striking visual.
