Retail giant Walmart has been announced as being the only outlet for the ‘Star Wars: Black Series’ 3 3/4″ action figure series.  Not to be confused with the 6″ series or the regular line of 3 3/4″ figures, which are available to the mass market, these figures feature more detail than the average smaller scale figures and come in collector-aimed box packaging, rather than the standard cards.  This line launched to all retail outlets in 2013 and has become a fan favorite for the high detail but traditional size, which makes them more affordable than the larger versions.

The first two waves are available now on Walmart’s website (if they’re not already sold out) and will be available within the next few months in stores.  The first assortment consists of Episode IV: ‘A New Hope’ Chewbacca and Episode VI: ‘Return of the Jedi’ Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.  The second assortment includes Episode IV Princess Leia and the first two Episode VII: ‘The Force Awakens’ figures, Kylo Ren and First Order Stormtrooper.

In an official statement, Anne Marie Kehoe, the vice president of toys for Walmart stated:

“Walmart is very excited to be the exclusive home of the Star Wars Black Series 3 ¾ inch figures.  This is just the beginning – fans, customers and collectors can expect Walmart and Walmart.com to be the place to find the newest characters and figures as they are released.”

Maureen Smith, senior vice president of brand marketing for Hasbro, echoed the enthusiasm, saying:

“We’re thrilled that Walmart will be the new home for fans’ beloved STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-inch toy line.  With the support of a world-class retailer like Walmart, we can ensure that collectors continue to get new, highly detailed and articulated 3 3/4-inch STAR WARS action figures for years to come.”

So if you’re looking to expand your collection of Black Series action figures, there’s only one place to go, good ol’ Wally World.

Is this good news?  Are you excited to be able to add these toys to your collection?
