Looking for more ‘Supergirl’? Well here you go. CBS has a new promo for the show that was just put up online today. There’s not really much in the way of anything new, but it’s still a neat little trailer and it gets the gist of the series across: Kara Zor-El (played by Melissa Benoist) is Superman’s cousin and trying to live a normal life as a normal human in National City but when the plane that her sister from her adopted family is on is about to crash, she decides to start using her powers to save people, just like her cousin in Metropolis. Along the way she’ll be getting help from her few select friends who know her secret and help her however they can as she fights normal criminals and superpowered baddies alike.
Other actors in the show include Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, and Dean Cain (who played Superman in ‘Lois & Clark’) and Helen Slater (who played Supergirl in the 1984 ‘Supergirl’ movie) as Kara’s adopted parents, Fred and Sylvia Danvers.
So far I think I like these trailers. There’s a real sense of Supergirl deciding to be heroic and really exploring her powers for the first time, which should make for a really interesting first season or so. I’m not sure if it’s unfortunate or not yet that the TV show won’t have any crossover with the movies, but I’m still holding out hope that ‘Supergirl’ will at least cross over with ‘The Flash’ and ‘Arrow.’
So what do you think of the upcoming Supergirl show? Will it be as good as the other DC shows that have been out lately? Are you hoping for a crossover between them as well? Let us know in the comments below.
‘Supergirl’ will premiere on October 26th at 8:30p.m. on CBS.
