In case you missed it on Saturday morning, the TARDIS landed at the Philadelphia Convention Center as ‘Doctor Who’ stars David Tennant and Billie Piper arrived at Wizard World Philly to meet fans and participate in a Q&A session. One person that certainly didn’t miss it was Marvel Comics writer Dan Slott. You may have heard that the ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘Silver Surfer’ writer “saved the day” for the Doctor and Rose Tyler at their panel when they needed some help with trivia. However, if he had his way, Slott would have had more to offer the Time Lord than some Sycoraxic assistance.

While taking a break from meeting legions of Spidey and Surfer fans in Artist Alley, Slott spoke with us about ‘Spider-Verse’, ‘Secret Wars’, and his thoughts on Peter Capaldi’s performance so far as The Doctor. But the well-documented Whovian also shared that he once tried very hard to make an ‘Amazing Spider-Man’/’Doctor Who’ crossover happen at Marvel. Because of reasons, it never came to be, but the acclaimed writer shared some details of the story with us in an exclusive interview.

If you’re not a fan of ‘Doctor Who’, there’s still plenty of awesome stuff for you in this chat. For instance, Slott talks about Norrin Radd and Dawn Greenwood’s fates during ‘Secret Wars’. Not to give anything away, but apparently not everyone makes it to Battleworld. Also, the writer touches on his decision to bring Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson back together for ‘Renew Your Vows’. Check out all this and more in the video below:
