Hold onto your hats True Believers! It has been confirmed by Stan “The Man” Lee that his MCU cameo tradition will be continued in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ the 92 year old comic book vet recently stating:

“Not only am I in Age of Ultron, I’m in two scenes. One scene followed immediately by another one, so you must not miss it.”

Seems as though Lee’s part might be a bit larger than his normal cameos, which is fine by me. It has been a fun and exciting tradition for Lee to pop up in almost every Marvel movie, including those not created by Marvel Studios. Starting with ‘The Trial of the Incredible Hulk’ (back in the late 1980’s), Stan Lee has shown up in everything from ‘X-Men,’ ‘Daredevil,’ ‘Iron Man, ‘ ‘Avengers,’ ‘The Fantastic Four’ and in all 5 of the ‘Spider-man’ films that we’ve seen so far. Speaking of Spidey, Lee has also spoken up recently with his opinion on the wall-crawler making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a deal that seems to have made him very happy.

“Of course, the more we can get them all together like the Avengers, it’s fun. And the public, they love those kinds of movies. And so do I.”

When Lee was running Marvel Comics, he helped start the idea of a shared universe where the heroes and villains all co-exist, bumping into each other now and then for cross-over events and mini-sagas that needed more than one hero to save to day. If not for his work, we would not have the MCU as we know it (not to mention most of the characters in the MCU). And knowing that Spider-man, one of his favorite creations, is finally free to play in this world with the rest of his heroes, clearly make Stan Lee very happy.

Here’s hoping the new incarnation of ‘Spider-man’ lives up to the greatest of Stan’s dreams, and that the MCU he helped creates continues to entertain us for years to come.
