Recently there was some disturbing news about the release of ‘Twin Peaks‘ and word of a delay had come about. Do fans who have been waiting 25 years for the return of some damn good coffee have reason to worry?

Rumors spread like wildfire that ‘Twin Peaks’ was being delayed when series creator David Lynch was at a Q&A in Brisbane. Specifically when asked about the show’s return Lynch had a few very disheartening words to say when he responded, “I don’t know. There are complications.”

What kind of complications could be coming up? It seems as if it had to do with the legalities somewhere as he stated:

“I haven’t returned yet and we’re still working on the contract, but I love the world of Twin Peaks and I love those characters. And I think it will be very special to go back into that world.”

Does this mean Lynch himself still hasn’t fully signed a contract? That seems strange this far into development with Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, and Dana Ashbrook already confirmed to return. Prior to that, it was also stated that Lynch was on board to both direct and write the 9 episode series.

However, since those two interviews we’ve also heard that Showtime has already received the scripts and greenlit the series. Apparently a source has at the network has said, “Nothing is going on that’s any more than any pre-production process with David Lynch. Everything is moving forward, and everybody is crazy thrilled and excited.”

So, folks, is Lynch in the know of something that we aren’t as of yet? Is our beloved series still going to fall short of being released? Share your thoughts below!
