On the road to ‘Spider-Verse,’ we were introduced to a brand new version of Gwen Stacy courtesy of Jason LaTour and Robbi Rodriguez‘s issue of ‘Edge of Spider-Verse.’ This punk rock drummer with spider powers was smart, tough, charming, and resonated with fans so much that her introduction sold out in record-breaking time. That’s why it was no surprise that Marvel Comics announced her very own ongoing series at last year’s New York Comic Con from the creative team that brought her to life. Now, the time is almost here for Spider-Gwen to break out on her own and we have a special preview of what’s to come on February 25, 2015.

Though she’s currently engaged in the battle against the Inheritors with her fellow Spider Totems, later this month will see Gwen back in the spotlight when she stars in her very own ongoing title. As we’ve seen, this version of the character comes from a universe where she couldn’t save Peter Parker’s life and she became the friendly neighborhood Spider-Woman. However, we’re not sure which neighborhood she’ll be in once her book hits the shelves at our local comic shops. All we know is that she’ll be joining fellow Spider-Ladies Cindy Moon and Jessica Drew as they all receive their own books separate from the Spidey office’s flagship title ‘Amazing Spider-Man,’ which definitely isn’t a bad thing. But until we get more information about the upcoming series, we have a few pages from the first issue in the gallery below, along with variant covers from Adam Hughes, Kris Anka, and Skottie Young:

As sales have proven, Spider-Gwen is a hit with True Believers everywhere, so it’s pretty much a no-brainer that if you want to get your hands on issue one of her series, you’ll have to get to comic shops early on the 25th. Will you be adding ‘Spider-Gwen’ #1 to your pull list to avoid the wait? And what are you expecting to happen now that Gwen Stacy is back in the Marvel Universe?
