With the release of the new ‘World of Warcraft’ expansion pack called Warlords of Draenor,’ Blizzard Entertainment has announced that subscriptions for the famous MMORPG has once again surpassed 10 million subscribers.

After experiencing a series of  ups and downs in terms of numbers of its subscription base over the past couple of years, ‘World of Warcraft’ has finally been able to surpass the 10 million mark again after the expansion pack launched last week in North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, and on November 20 in South Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

“We’re thrilled that so many players jumped in to play ‘Warlords of Draenor’ on day one and are having a great time with the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We poured a lot of hard work and passion into this expansion, and we appreciate all the kind words from players and the overwhelming support they continue to show for ‘World of Warcraft.'”

‘Warlords of Draenor’ is the fifth expansion pack in the long-running MMORPG series. It features new content such as new dungeons, raids, a new raid difficulty mode and the ability for players to build and upgrade their own garrison, a personal area where players can recruit NPCs to do quests and get items for them. On top of other adjustments and additions, level cap has also expanded to 100. Players interested in accessing the newer content sooner but have not reached the appropriate level will be able to with a pre-packed level-90 character that is included in all copies of the expansion pack.

The expansion pack has players aiding in a charge into the orc home world of Draenor after Garrosh Hellscream escapes through the Dark portal to forge orc clans with the intent of destroying Azeroth. Blizzard recently put out a five-episode series that further expands on the ‘Warcraft’ lore for the orc clan warlords featured in the expansion pack.

‘World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor’ is available now for Windows PC and Mac.
