Earlier this week, a few names surfaced for potential leads in the upcoming Marvel Studios and Netflix collaboration ‘Jessica Jones’. So far, we have ‘Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23’ star Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario of the ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians’ series, ‘I Am Number Four’ and ‘Warm Bodies’ star Teresa Palmer, and ‘Arrow’ alum Jessica De Gouw in the running for the former teen hero turned private detective, as well as Lance Gross and Mike Colter for the part of her Hero for Hire boyfriend Luke Cage (who will also be getting his own series down the line). But now, it appears that we have a few more potential stars for these coveted Marvel Cinematic Universe roles.
Deadline updated their report to include Marin Ireland of ‘Homeland’, ‘Masters of Sex’, and ‘The Divide’, a WE TV legal drama that was recently cancelled. Because of the new vacancy in her schedule, Ireland is freed up for the role Jessica Jones. As for the part of Power Man, relative newcomer Cleo Anthony has joined the shortlist for Luke Cage. Aside from small roles in ‘Big Time Rush’, ‘Divergent’, and ‘Trophy Wife’, some might question whether Anthony has the acting chops despite having the right look.
Though Anthony and Ireland may be the newest superheroes to join Marvel Studios’ stable of characters, it’s still possible that we might get a few more horses in this race before a decision is made.
