George R.R. Martin has proven with ‘Game of Thrones’ that adapting his work can hook viewers like nothing else and now Syfy is giving it a try with ‘Nightflyers.’ The latest trailer was released during San Diego Comic-Con 2018, and it looks like the novella has inspired something fun.
Space horror has always been one of my favorite things ever since seeing the original ‘Alien’ so when “There was a malfunction during launch, and it wasn’t an accident” I’m already interested.

Having not read the novella that this is based on, I couldn’t tell you if this is an alien presence or a ghost but something otherworldly is happening aboard this ship. This has the potential to be a terrifying entree into the space horror genre and if done right, could open a new door into a genre that hasn’t been done too often in television.
Of course, being on Syfy we know that fans of the network will take this as bittersweet news with the channel canceling fan-favorites just as often as they continue them.
