We haven’t been hearing much from the ‘Halloween 3‘ camp, but we’ve just learned that the current draft of the script should be fully ready and completed the night before Halloween! While producer Malek Akkad hasn’t read the latest script yet, he is eagerly looking forward to having a chance to check it out.
Previously they’ve told us that ” As we stated before, a new installment of Halloween is indeed on track and moving forward and we are currently developing a script, to finally bring Michael back to the theaters!” So we know the script will likely include Michael Myers, if that is to be believed, and not follow the story line of the first ‘Halloween 3: Season of the Witch.’
Akkad continued saying:
“It’s been a joy to work with so many creative people – ten films. We’re working on eleven as we speak. We’re working on a script right now. A new draft – perfect timing – is supposed to hit the day before Halloween. Hopefully my Halloween night reading will be a good read.”
Fans of Myers are all hoping the same thing! While the massive horror franchises have been waning on sales in recent years as the last film only grossed $39 million (Rob Zombie’s first take on the reboot had earned $80 million), there is still a place for them to exist. If a film is well executed enough the franchises can continue. There have just more more misses than hits as of late in the older series.
Do you think a new ‘Halloween’ movie will be a must see? Do you think they’ll be revisiting the original series, the newer Rob Zombie created series, or have an entirely new take on the character entirely? Share your thoughts below!
