The much anticipated upcoming ‘Super Smash Bros for Wii U’ is finally coming out on November 21.

Announced by Nintendo, the newest entry in the long running fan favorite brawler franchise featuring iconic Nintendo characters will be releasing just in time for the holidays.

The announcement comes alongside sales figures for the recently released  ‘Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS,’ which has sold over 2.8 million units following release in the Americas, Europe and Australia. The game sold over 1 million units in a single weekend alone in when it launched in Japan.

Nintendo also announced that the upcoming ‘Amiibo’ toy line will be launching on the same day as the Wii. U version of ‘Super Smash Bros.’ For those who don’t know, ‘Amiibo’ are augmented reality toys, much like the famous ‘Skylanders’ toy line by Activision, that can be wirelessly scanned by a Wii U or scanned via peripheral by a 3DS to unlock additional features across different Nintendo games. For example, specifically in both versions ‘Super Smash Bros.,’ Amiibo toys can be used to customize a CPU character that players can throw into battle at any time. ‘Amiibo’ will be compatible with Wii U upon release while Nintendo 3DS compatibility will be available sometime in 2015.

The first wave of ‘Amiibo’ figures will include Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey King, Link, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu and Marth. A second wave that includes Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Pitt, Captain Falcon and Little Mac is set to release sometime in December. The toy line will be priced $12.99 each.

Those looking to play ‘Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’ with the classic GameCube controller will be able to via adapter, which Nintendo has announced to be $19.99. People who need new GameCube controllers will be able to purchase them as well at $29.99. The game, the controller and the adapter will also be releasing in a special bundle priced at $99.99.

‘Super Smash Bros. for Wii. U’ will release on November 21. The 3DS version of the game is available now.
