Way back in January, many fans were surprised to hear that iconic actor Michael Douglas would be playing Dr. Hank Pym in Peyton Reed’s ‘Ant-Man.’ Once it was established that the upcoming Phase Three film would focus on Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang rather than the original iteration of the hero, things made more sense, but True Believers still speculated that we might see the star of ‘Wall Street,’ ‘Basic Instinct,’ and ‘Fatal Attraction’ don the mantle of the size-shifting scientist supreme, at least in a flashback. Well, it turns out that despite some teasing to the contrary early on, it won’t be happening. However, the actor assures us that his co-star will wear it “in good form.”

In a recent interview with MTV, Douglas shared that his older version of Pym won’t be slipping into the Ant-Man suit in the former passion project of British filmmaker and fan favorite Edgar Wright. Although, thanks to Rudd’s workout regimen, the super suit will be more than adequately filled out. Check out what the actor had to say while he was promoting his new film ‘The Reach’ at the Toronto International Film Festival in the video below, followed by the official synopsis of his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut:

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
